forty-three thousand miles closer to globular cluster 13 in the constellation Hercules, and still there are some misfits who continue to insist that there is no such thing as progress. - Ransom K. Ferm

The world is a funny place you know. Full of mysteries that no one can explain.

But in reality there really isn't anything that we can do about it. Nothing we can really solve. All we can do, is to try and find an explanation.

And even that is a hard task. Trying to find an explanation for something that we have no idea what is.

You could say that, maybe we'll never get the chance to find it in our lifetime. But then again, you never know what could happen.

Take the Bermuda Triangle for instance. (For the people who don't know, here is a brief explanation.) The Bermuda Triangle is an area of water in the Northern Atlantic Ocean, in which numerous amounts planes, and boats appear to go missing in mysterious circumstances. Some people believe the disappearances to be the work of bad weather, time warps, alien abductions, and even suspension of the law of physics.

Although substantial documentation exists to show that many of the reports have been exaggerated, there is still no explanation for the unusually large number of disappearances in the area.

I have this friend, Chris. He goes on cruises every single year to the Bahamas, and passes right through the Bermuda Triangle, and he comes back alive and well. So I'm not entirely sure if this is believable or not.

Another mystery thats been on my mind is, The Lost City of Atlantis. Everyone has heard the story, first mentioned by Plato. Here is Plato's introduction to Atlantis in 'Timaeus', first written in 360BC.

For it is related in our records how once upon a time your State stayed the course of a mighty host, which, starting from a distant point in the Atlantic ocean, was insolently advancing to attack the whole of Europe, and Asia to boot. For the ocean there was at that time navigable; for in front of the mouth which you Greeks call, as you say, 'the pillars of Heracles,' there lay an island which was larger than Libya and Asia together; and it was possible for the travelers of that time to cross from it to the other islands, and from the islands to the whole of the continent over against them which encompasses that veritable ocean. For all that we have here, lying within the mouth of which we speak, is evidently a haven having a narrow entrance; but that yonder is a real ocean, and the land surrounding it may most rightly be called, in the fullest and truest sense, a continent. Now in this island of Atlantis there existed a confederation of kings, of great and marvelous power, which held sway over all the island, and over many other islands also and parts of the continent.

Over the years, the idea of a lost continent became geologically impossible, due to the widely increased understanding of plate tectonics around the 1960s. There have been dozens of locations prophesied for Atlantis over the passed hundred years. A lot of people actually believe that Atlantis is not in the Atlantic after all. Most of these locations were thought of by psychics or other pseudoscientific means, though many of these proposed locations, share the same exact characteristics of what happened to Atlantis, a catastrophic end.

Many people today believe that Atlantis was once an advance civilization. This was mentioned by Edgar Cace, a psychic, who suggested that it was originally a continent-sized region extending from the Azores to the Bahamas, holding an ancient, highly evolved civilization which had ships and aircraft powered by a mysterious form of energy crystal. He also predicted that parts of Atlantis would rise in 1968 or 1969.

In 1968, it actually happened. The Bimini Road is an underwater rock formation, of large rectangular stones, near North Bimini island in the Bahamas, that was founded by J. Manson Valentine.

It will never go away you know, Atlantis will always be thought of as a large continent with an advance civilization, that will never be found.

for a new life, it's the end to something new.

"The meek shall inherit the Earth. And the rest of us will go to the stars." - Omni Magazine

Hello everyone. It has been a while. Though, I have been particularly busy.

There is something different about our ever changing world. I don't know if any of you know this, or if you would even care.. but it has been in my thoughts lately.

Do you believe that we, (humans) could be the only life in existence? Or are we just a small population too far to find other life forms out there in the universe.

That thought has come to my mind many times within the last couple years.

The closest galaxy in the universe to us that happens to be very similar to ours, the Andromeda Galaxy. There is a huge possibility that within the Andromeda Galaxy, there could actually be a planet similar to Earth. This possible Earth like planet, could also have possible life forms on it. Could be primordial life, or intelligent life like the humans on this planet.

You know what? There could actually be more than one planet, maybe dozens. All we have to do is search for them. But there is a problem with all this. There is no way we could know if this is true or not. Why? Because we're in a point of our existence where technology hasn't evolved enough for us to search vast distances.

The Andromeda Galaxy is over 2 million light years away from us. And when we see the galaxy through our primitive telescopes, we're seeing it as it was 2 million years ago. So if there was a way for us to see into the galaxy and find the planets, who knows what we would find. Whatever we see wont be like they are today.

This is not only in account for the Andromeda Galaxy. This is also for any other galaxy, or star system that happens to be light years away.

Just thought I would share.

weather change for a new month.

It's getting to the end of June. This year has to be one of the weirdest years ever. Weather wise anyway. Why do I say these things? Well, lets take last night for instance. It was colder than the inside of a freezer. This whole weather change has got me thinking.

Over recent years, during the summer, it has gotten so much hotter. And in the winter, its not as cold as I thought it would be. Basically, what I'm getting at, is the whole, 'GLOBAL WARMING' issue. I hope you all know that this is completely and entirely our fault. Who? MAN. MANKIND. Its us. We built the factories that pollute our air, the cars that add to it, destroyed beautiful plant life that provide us oxygen. So at the current moment, I'm trying my hardest to fix my part of this world. I am recycling, trying to go green, carpool, you know, that sort of thing. I recommend that everyone do the same. We could save our beautiful planet from becoming a dirty wasteland of trash...

Thats all I have to say about that. Nothing of interest has been happening to me, other than the fact that my computer is now in shambles. Reason why I'm on here now is because I just recently acquired a laptop. So I decided to update all my sites that I have been neglecting.

Now a random thought. 'End of the world', or as its popular title, 'The Fate of the Universe'. How will things go? It has been said that the Earth can end several different ways.

One being the 'Big Freeze'. Most likely, the definition of the 'Big Freeze' is that the universe will continue to expand forever. As it expands, the universe will cool and eventually be too cold to sustain life.

The other possible scenario for the ultimate fate of the universe being the 'Big Crunch'. You know how I said that the universe will most likely expand? Well, this scenario is different. Basically the expansion of space will eventually reverse and the universe will re-collapses on itself, ultimitaly ending as a blackhole singularity.

Another scenario for the fate of the universe is called the 'Big Rip'. This reminds me of the 'Big Freeze' but worse! This hypothesis was first published in 2003 , in which, the matter of the universe, from stars, atoms, subatomic particles, and galaxies, are progressively torn apart because of the expansion of the universe For this to be possible, this hypothesis relies on the dark energy of the universe.

The final possible fate of the universe that I could find is the 'Heat Death' of the universe. This is the definition on the internet: 'The idea of heat death stems from the second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy tends to increase in an isolated system. If the universe lasts for a sufficient time, it will asymptotically approach a state where all energy is evenly distributed. In other words, in nature there is a tendency to the dissipation (energy loss) of mechanical energy (motion); hence, by extrapolation, there exists the view that the mechanical movement of the universe will run down in time due to the second law.' I agree with this definition of the hypothesis. My other thought of the 'Heat Death' is that, when the Sun dies (in about 5 billion years) it will engulf all of the inner planets, up to the asteroid belt. And everything will burn up and explode.

Out of all of these scenarios of the possible fate of the universe, I believe the 'Big Freeze' is the one that will kill us all. Unless, in 5 billion years our Sun kills us first...

Very interesting to think about.

the end of everything.

Usually this blog is to post some of my random ideas and thoughts. Today shall be a little different. Why? Becaus I can. Anywho, you will not believe the day I've had. I have this friend that always sends me emails with links in them for the purpose of showing me things he has recently aquired.Well I thought nothing of it when he sent me this latest email. I clicked on the image link. Next thing I know, I get a massive load of pop-ups, my screen goes blank, and my power supply fan dies. Every time I turn it on, or try to, I keep getting the BSOD, and immediate shut off. The only reason I'm online right now is because my friend's mother let me borrow her netbook until I can get a new PC.

The next two weeks are going to be hectic.

-Yuki out.

lemonade tea for a new month.

"We live in a changing universe, and few things are changing faster than our conception of it." - Timothy Ferris, "The Whole Shebang"

For the start of the new month, I decided to start reading newer books that don't usually interest me. I want to know how is it that other people are interested. I started to read many mystery and romance novels.

After reading some mystery novels I came to a realization. Most of them are confusing, not well written or just plain boring. But I do have to give it up to some authors. They really know how to write a book. Suspense and drama everywhere. I think I'm starting to like mystery novels. Especially ones dealing with government conspiracy theories, or religious/secret societies. I mean, i'm not one for religion or anything like that, but thank you Dan Brown for making it interesting.

When reading the romance novels I find them to be sad. Not as in getting me upset, but i pity all the men and women (mainly women) who read these types of books. Most of the women that do are alone and find comfort in a 'fictional' person's happiness and drama. I never understood why. I currently, am alone. I have no significant other of any kind, and I too feel that lonely feeling at times. But when I read these novels, these 'works of magnificent brilliance'? This is my reaction: W T F. This is pure stupidity.

Thats all I have to say about that subject. I've been obsessed with monkeys recently. Why? I've been reading up on 'the origin of species' by Charles Darwin, and i'm just amazed. I'll talk more about it later.

extra sweet tea, kinda gross.

"Mortal as I am, I know that I am born for a day. This is for me to make myself feel better, or to just put my thoughts down anyway. Well, in my recent posts, they were usually about random thoughts that I had floating around in my head. This post however, is a little different. I will also be posting this on my livejournal account, just in case you wanted to know.

Anywho, I have been thinking it over and I noticed that there is something seriously lacking from my life. I don’t think it is the excitement. Just for the fact that I care not much for it. I also do not think that it’s my lack of relationships either. I have many friends in who I socialize with on occasion. I’d rather be home though, either reading a book or manga, watching anime or movies, or working on the many websites that I have. Usually I am always busy. With one thing or the other.

A couple weeks ago a friend pointed out how I was not accomplishing anything here. I don't think he was trying to be rude or anything, just helping out. And he was right. I thought and thought of what I should do with my life now. I’m 21 years old and smart. I have an IQ of 145 and I do nothing with it. I should make a new start somewhere. One to clear my head, two to explore a new country, and three, a fresh start. I have decided that this would be a good idea and a great opportunity for me. I could finally get everything in order.

Of course, anyone who knows me knows which country I’m going to choose to live in. I have friends and family that say they can help me through all this. I thank them for that.

Will it be all about money, war, poverty, death? I was reading 'The Giver' by Lois Lowry today, and came to a thought. A utopian society does sound good. What if we did live in 'sameness'? Live in a peaceful, utopian community, where all possible steps were taken to eliminate pain or confusion. The family units would share their dreams and feelings on a daily basis to diffuse emotional buildup. Every family has a mother, father, and two children, one of each sex. Where everyone has his or her place in the world assigned according to gifts and interests. There is much laughter and obvious joy. There is no rudeness, no crime, no unemployment, No colors, no emotion, and no disease. Think about it, what if we lost violence, sadness, and loss, as well as true love, beauty, joy, adventure, animals, and family? Living in a perfect, utopian community, where there are no choices, no feelings, no, anything. Doesn't that sound like a great place to live in? Obviously that was sarcasm.

I came up to the conclusion that, if I were to ever meet Michio Kaku (theoretical physicist), I would like to ask him this question:

Does it stand to reason that the scale of intelligent life could be dramatically different on other, much larger earth like planets...or much smaller ones? Or do we have any reason to believe, based on our knowledge of physics, that there is some cosmological limit to the range of mass for complex life forms?

Now isn't that a fantastic question? I think so.

out and about, and kids are loud.

“There is no one reality. These discoveries compel acceptance of the idea that there is far more than just one universe and that we constantly interact with many of these “hidden” universes.

Doppelgängers? What do you know about them? Is to any double or look-alike of a person. The word is also used to describe the sensation of having glimpsed oneself in peripheral vision, in a position where there is no chance that it could have been a reflection. They are generally regarded as harbingers of bad luck. In some traditions, a doppelgänger seen by a person's friends or relatives portends illness or danger, while seeing one's own doppelgänger is an omen of death.* A friend of mine found her doppelgänger online. She was just roaming the internet and saw a picture (of what she thought was herself) of a girl laughing with a bunch of people. She swore it wasn't her. She then found out that the girl was from like Gernamy or something.

And you know whats even weirder? Apparently the Japanese company, Actroid, were making mechanical doppelgängers as a new years promotional sale. They were 20.1 million yen ($223,000 USD). They only took orders from Jan 1st to the 3rd. In addition to providing the robot with the owner’s face, body, hair, eyes and eyelashes, Kokoro will model the robot’s facial expressions and upper body movements after the buyer. The robot’s speech will be based on recordings of the owner’s voice.

How crazy is that?

*wiki*

red dwarfs, or white degenerate dwarfs.

You know what I don't get? There are supposed to be black holes all over the universe. Billions of them! They suck up anything they can find, to feed their infinite stomachs. One day the universe is going to be a cold, dead, and dry place. Not that its not cold and dry already, but dead. There is even suppose to be a Super Massive Black Hole in the center of our very own galaxy! So think about it, one day (possibly billions upon billions of years from now), our own galaxy is going to be sucked into that black hole. Did you know that in January 2008, the largest known black hole in the universe was discovered? It is located in the heart of a quasar called OJ287, it’s at a distance of 3.5 billion light years !

The fight to find intelligent life out there in the universe is a scarce battle. But what if, one day, we do find life out there? In space. Not primordial life, no no no, that is completely different. They pose to threat to us. But think about it. Intelligent life. What if? I mean, would you be scared? Or would you be overjoyed because you know you're not alone in this vast universe? Personally I would be overjoyed. Just the thought of being able to find life out in the universe! Its not even that. To know that your planet is not the only one with life! On another note, we always perceived that 'aliens' from another planet were these little green men things with long fingers and bug eyes. Or (from the alien movie series) these savage beasts with no mercy. We have no idea what they will look like or how they would act! And the probability of them looking anything like us is either slim to nearly impossible. We just have these outrageous accusations and exaggerated stories about what they might look like, which probably started with a rumor gone bad. There is no way I believe that they are little green men.

And speaking of little green men. People of the internet, I welcome you to 'AREA 51'. Now, do you honestly believe that this place exist? Or that the Roswell UFO incident ever really happened? Why would you? I sure don't. I mean, would aliens really come thousands or billions of miles to earth to just 'crash land' and to be caught so easily by our 1940's government? For you people who don't know of the incident. *thank you wiki*

"The Roswell UFO Incident was the alleged recovery of extra-terrestrial debris, including alien corpses, from an object which crashed near Roswell, New Mexico, USA, on or about July 8, 1947. Since the late 1970s the incident has been the subject of intense controversy and the subject of conspiracy theories as to the true nature of the object which crashed. The United States military maintains that what was actually recovered was debris from an experimental high-altitude surveillance balloon belonging to a classified program named "Mogul"; however, many UFO proponents maintain that in fact a crashed alien craft and bodies were recovered, and that the military then engaged in a cover-up."

And then there is this so called 'alien autopsy'. Honestly, its a total hoax! *thanks wiki again* "The footage caused an international sensation when it aired on television networks around the world. In 2006, Santilli admitted that the film was mostly a reconstruction but continued to claim that it was based on genuine footage now lost (how convenient), and that some frames from the original remained"

Anywho, off the topic of aliens. Well, it may not be as funny to all of you, but I think it is. I have been trying to play the piano for over ten years now (without anyone teaching me) and all I can play is Fur Elise. And thats only the FIRST part. No, that is not ALL that I can play. The beginning to Moonlight Sonata, all of Symphony No. 9, Etude 3, and the Entertainer too! Some small game music, like TETRIS! I mean, really, who doesn't love tetris?! To the right is my beloved instrument. This is my Yamaha PSR-175. They don't make keyboards like this anymore! It has its own DJ feature (I think it was one of the firsts), preset tunes, left and right hand learning, recording, and it even came with 100 built-in songs! I just love this keyboard.

But I think, out of all the classical music in the whole world, Fur Elise has to be my favourite. To the left is the exact sheet of the song, Fur Elise, that I have (only the beginning part). It may seem confusing to people who dont read notes but thats ok! This song is just so beautiful, and so well known! Anyone who hears the first part, and instantly they recognize it! Thats what I love about this song. Hey, do you guys remember that old friend I was telling you about in my older post? The one that likes astronomy too? Well he taught me how to play this one song, and I've been getting a whole lot better at it. He made it up, and I absolutely love it. I even remixed it a little, made it a bit of my own. Ever since he showed me that song, I have played it, everyday. I never missed one day. You guys need to hear it. Maybe one day :D.

At the moment, I'm trying to learn some other songs to play on the keyboard. Some anime songs. I guess. You know, the more I think about it, the more it gets to me... I've been trying to play this instrument for ten years and look how far I've gotten. NOWHERE. I need to have someone teach me.

Until next time.

the universe is a cramped place.

"We have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night".

- Tombstone epitaph of two amateur astronomers.

Hello. I'm very much into astronomy. It's more so my passion. Meet GJ 1214b. This picture is an artist's rendition of what the planet might look like contrast to its parent star, GJ 1214. This planet was discovered earlier last month. It is approximately 40 light-years from Earth, in the constellation Ophiuchus and believed to be a super-earth and to be made up of 70% water. While there really is no direct evidence for the presence of water, the data-fitting mass and radius values are consistent with the planet being an ocean planet, composed primarily of water (~75% of total mass), surrounding a rocky core (~25%), possibly covered by a hydrogen and helium atmosphere (~0.05%).This is a fantastic find because where there is water, there has to be some sort of life, primordial, primitive, or intelligent. When I found this information out, I began to cry. Tears of joy. Its just, the possibility of finding life other than our own is ground breaking! But really, GJ 1214b could just be a rocky planet with an outgassed hydrogen-rich atmosphere. We really will never know until the data fits.

Do you ever wonder what is out there when you're looking up at the stars? I do, almost everyday. I really don't know when I got into astronomy, probably when I was around 16. I do know, for a fact, that I got really into astronomy when I was 19. That was around the same time I was talking to one of my closest friends. He is very much into astronomy as well, basically the only person I can call when I get excited about seeing 'Orion's Belt' in the night sky. Speaking of which, I havent really talked to him in such a long time. I love going to the park with a bunch of people and lying on the grass. We look up at the stars and try to name them all. I could only get a few, but it's always fun. The last time I did that was around the time of my final exam in eleventh grade. Those were some good times.

Now, to get back on topic. My favorite constellation in the whole entire (night) sky, has to be the Orion Constellation. Ever since I could remember, every time I look up at night, the first constellation I try to look for is Orion. It is one of the largest, most conspicuous, and most recognizable constellations in the night sky. Especially the The Belt of Orion. I try to look for that first. Orion's Belt has three of the brightest stars in our sky. ζ Ori (Alnitak), ε Ori (Alnilam), and δ Ori (Mintaka). Alnitak is approximately 800 light years away from earth and is 100,000 more luminous than our very own Sun. The second star, Alnilam, is approximately 1340 light years away from earth and is 375,000 times more luminous than the Sun. Mintaka, the third and final star, is 915 light years away and is 90,000 times more luminous than the Sun. It has always been said that, looking for Orion's belt in the night sky is the easiest way to locate the constellation Orion.

One of my other favorite things about our solar system is Jupiter's Galilean Moons. The Galilean moons are the four moons of Jupiter discovered by Galileo Galilei in 1610. They are the largest of the many moons of Jupiter. The four moons derive their names from the lovers of Zeus: Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. I have my very own telescope, so whenever there is a clear night, I go to my roof and try to locate the four moons. I'm just an armature, but I already spotted Jupiter. At the current moment, I'm trying to find Io. That little bugger is hard to find. It would help though if I had a star map.

Nothing more to talk about now.

what goes around the mind is scary.

Hello. I had two different but sort of the same dreams last time. No. make that three. The first two dreams were odd for me. I mean is, they are not like the usual dreams that I have. I think it's because when I sleep with socks on, I get the ODDEST dreams and when I don't, I have normal dreams. The third one was a classic dream for me. I know that some of you may think that's weird or very unorthodox but that's how I see it. I can't ever sleep with socks on, because I'll either have weird dreams, or I'd be sleeping very uncomfortably.

Dream #1: I was in a school, and I became a cheerleader, the unusual thing about this dream was that I was a cheerleader with my friends from around the world. I know I'll probably never meet them but still. Then I had to go, and I was driving my parents home. I found that to be weird, because I don't drive...

Dream #2: Somehow from dream #1, I ended up at a party. I was next to this really attractive guy. I was putting on gloves, like winter gloves. Everyone was watching us from what I could see. He wanted to hold my hand and I asked him if we're like, you know, together. He said yes and I flipped (in a good way I guess). Then it faded to, from what I could tell, me lying on a bed, sick. That whatever guy was watching over me and he had to go. Why did I find this dream weird? Because I NEVER have dreams like this. AT ALL. Not one really for relationships. But I liked it. It felt...nice.

Dream #3: Now This dream, I really do not remember how it starts, but I do know why I had this dream. This is thanks to playing 'Left 4 Dead 2' with my roommates till 6AM. OK, from what I remember, I was in a Hotel with people that I apparently knew. Then we started to get attacked by zombies! We were running, and tried going up this one hall, but there was a BOOMER there. So we went around another way and there were all these people huddled around, not wanting to go to the other hall. We heard these weird sounds and the guy I was with was like totally hugging me. It felt nice. Then I heard a really loud explosion. I woke up scared thinking someone bombed my house and wouldn't you know it, my ear popped. That's a normal dream.

<-- that's a boomer from 'Left 4 Dead 2'.

Well that's it for the dream talk. If I were to ever have a superpower of any kind, it would have to be Psychokinesis. How cool would that be? Having the telekinetic ability to move matter? Apparently, Telekinesis is just apart of it. I mean, if I was really powerful, my Telekinesis could expand to other mind controlling abilities.

There is also Pyrokinesis (Speed up the naturally occurring vibrations of atoms in matter to alter temperature, possibly to the point of ignition if combustible), and Cyrokinesis (Ability to reduce the kinetic energy of atoms and thus reduce temperature, can be used to control, generate, or absorb ice). But that is only if I was very powerful. If I just had the basic Telekinesis, it would just be the movement of matter (as in objects). Apparently performing telekinesis can do a lot of physical stress to the body.

If Psychokinesis were to really exist as 'claimed' by some experimenters, it would violate some well established laws of physics, including the inverse square law, the second law of thermodynamics and the conservation of momentum. I'm not saying that I do not believe in Parapsychology, but it is really hard to prove don't you think? Especially when people 'show' it off for money. Internationally, there are several individual skeptics of the paranormal and skeptics' organizations who offer cash prize money for demonstration of the existence of an extraordinary psychic power, such as Psychokinesis. So, it makes you wonder doesn't it?

Time to let the mind rest.

the beginning of something new.

Hello. This is my first blogger. Well, I would not call this my 'first', but on this website? Yes. I've used my livejournal, myspace, and my facebook to blog about things and such, but nothing like this. Not to a site dedicated to only blogging. I find doing this pretty fun.

I want it to me memorable for me, so when I look back on it, I can think about my life back in the past. This blog will be a place for me to talk about the happy times in my life as well as bitch about my problems/drama . Some random things will be going on in this blog, but thats just the fun of it.

I don't know what else to post as my 'first' post on this site.

Bye for now.
